All Appropriate Inquiry is the inquiry into the previous ownership and uses of the property consistent with good commercial or customary practice.

In order to satisfy All Appropriate Inquiry, at a minimum, the following tasks should be conducted.

1. Site Visit
2. Title Search
3. Review of site history, including interviews with former land owners or others familiar with the property.
4. Review of historical aerial photographs.
5. Review of Agency Records.
6. Review of historical cross-reference city directories.
7. Review of available fire insurance and topographical maps.
8. Preparation of a Report.

All Appropriate Inquiry defines the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment.
